[드라마] Dr. Champ

As if school wont start few days from now… after my disappointment with 9 Ends 2 Outs, I started a another drama – Dr. Champ.

It wasn’t on my to-watch list, but because the writer (Noh Ji-Sul) and director (Park Hyung-Gi) will be the same team behind Kim Sun-Ah‘s new drama Scent of a Woman, I wanna get to know them better. 🙂 I always do that. ㅎㅎㅎ

I don’t have very strong feelings about this drama yet. But I’m kinda liking the fact that this is a medical drama – for a change. I haven’t seen a Korean medical drama yet but it’s my favorite among American dramas (like E.R. that I love so much; and Grey’s Anatomy, that if only I have much time, I’d love to watch more of it). It also makes me more at ease. Scent of a Woman deals with a terminal disease somehow, and the least that I want is to mishandle that theme. Well, since they (writer-director) have a background with medical drama I guess (and hope!) that they won’t have that ridiculous ‘mis-diagnosis’ stuff on Scent of a Woman (puhlease!!!! pretty please!!!).

I also like the strong predicament early on (the malpractice issue) followed by loads of misfortunes. Murphy’s Law at its finest! And I’m loving it because I often had my share of Murphy’s Law (anything that can go wrong will go wrong) once in a while too.

And what I love the most is the cinematography!!! I love the camera and the texture! Oh god! I literally have to double check that it was a drama that I was watching and not a movie. I can’t wait for Kim Sun-Ah to be filmed by the same camera. I hope they’ll get the same cinematographer!!!

I hope I can finish this drama before school starts! And 49 Days too! 🙂

  1. The photography is indeed gorgeous, as the director chose a different type of camera lenses – I remember this topic from DB or kaedejun’s blog.
I am also pleased to see that over all, your verdict is so far, so good. I’m looking forward to reading more thoughts of you on this cherished drama of mine.

    • Whoops. I wrote words above with my wordpress account – though I actually have no article on my blog. This is Karine 안니 speaking, Dia. 😉

    • I know it was you! 🙂
The cinematography is so great that sometimes I don’t notice the drama anymore and just dreamily stare at the screen. I have this love for cinematography since my first course was Film and I’m into cinematography then (and editing).
I just finished episode 3 last night and will start on episode 4. And I’m liking it more and more. And why do they have to show half naked hot bodies frequently? Not that I’m complaining… ㅋㅋㅋ
