하지말라고…

Yesterday was a weird day in our Korean class… I don’t know why but it’s just… uhhmm… weird. It seems like everyone doesn’t have energy. Our 선생님 looks a bit tired (probably because of the upcoming Korean speech contest/Korean short play contest) that she’s organizing. And us, the students, were all kinda feeling stressed trying to memorize our speeches/play lines and trying to fit in practice schedules on our already full (and brimming) schedule – not to mention finals is just around the corner.

Plus the fact that the lesson discussed yesterday was pretty difficult. Okay, not really ‘that’ difficult, but very confusing. Our lesson yesterday was still quoted speech. A/V -다고 했어요 – 자고 했어요 V -(으)라고 했어요. I don’t know. It doesn’t really look like very difficult, but it seems like all our brains were all so drained out yesterday.

The only thing that keeps me going is the ~말라고… simply because of this scene from City Hall:

지금 갖고 있는 추억만으로도 아파 죽겠는데

왜 자꾸 보태는데…

왜 왜 아무것도 하지말라고 나한테

하지마…하지말라고…

I’m so late for my Korean class now… I hope there will be a better atmosphere today…

      • Ah, could it be Jelome Cailao? I don’t know her, nor am I familiar with her face. I just checked the list of the contestants after you mentioned that she is one of the finalists. She belongs to the 10-11 class (Beginner 1) of Jay-Ar 선생님. But I know her 도우미. Oh well, not really “know”, but I have talked with her 도우미 a couple of times. I usually stay (to practice, to study and to use the free internet and electricity. hehe) in the International Dormitory where most of the International (exchange/regular) students are staying. I think I even saw Jel once while practicing with her 도우미. Her 도우미 is a regular student, thus good in Tagalog. And I think Jel’s speech is about Cubao. Next time I’ll ask her about you. How’d you know each other? And how was her practice? I’m getting more and more anxious because I still haven’t memorized my speech and we only have 7 days left before the contest (plus our class also have a short Korean play on the same day – plus a major exam on one of my linguistics classes). 😦
